From the September 11 to 16, the Big Apple will be blooming with runways and presentations of this NYFW’s season! You can expect to find a sparkling glimpse into designers’ collections for spring and summer 2026 and get acquainted with the new year’s trends.
From world’s sidelines to the fashion capital
Although the NYFW is nowadays one of the biggest fashion events in the world, it hasn’t always been the case. During the Second World War, in 1943, the USA were isolated from Europe and, specially, from the occupied Paris, the heart of fashion at the time. That was when the publicist Eleanor Lambert organised the so-called “Press Week”, in New York. Her goal was to present the works of American fashion designers, namely Claire McCardell, changing the status quo of American fashion being a mere copy of the trends in Paris.

New York fashion week nowadays
Throughout time, New York’s Press Week gained prestige and fulfilled its goal to legitimise American fashion on the global stage, drawing in the press, celebrities and buyers. It went from a disorganised event, with shows scattered across New York, to a centralised one in Bryant Park, organised by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Today, it showcases both traditional designers like Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren and Carolina Herrera, and new talents channelling diversity, sustainability and innovation, expanding beyond womenswear to include menswear and streetwear.
Where to be this year?
Of course every event during New York fashion week is amazing, but we do have a few favourites we definitely recommend you keep an eye out for this year. First of all Art Hearts Fashion has a planned multiple amazing events. From runway shows to after parties and the annual gala. Tickets are now available! Furthermore on the 12th Calvin Klein, Off-White and Alexander Wang will all be hosting their show. Unfortunately these shows are only accessible by invite. Later on in the week Coach and Tory, two of our favourite bag brands, will be hosting shows. We are excited!
