The world of luxury beauty is about to welcome an exciting new player: Louis Vuitton is officially launching its own makeup line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, this fall. And yes, we know what you’re thinking — aren’t there already enoughbeauty brands? Fair point. But when it’s Louis Vuitton, you know it’s going to be something special.
Return
While Louis Vuitton is best known today for its iconic bags and trunks, beauty isn’t entirely new territory for the French house. In fact, Louis Vuitton introduced its very first fragrance all the way back in 1927, alongside a collection of powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors. Over the decades, the brand shifted its focus to fragrances, but its signature monogrammed vanity cases have remained a staple. Now, Louis Vuitton is giving us something to actually fill those vanity cases — a full-fledged makeup collection.

Pat McGrath at the Helm
To steer this beauty venture, Louis Vuitton has tapped none other than makeup legend Pat McGrath as Creative Director. It’s a partnership that feels like destiny — McGrath has been collaborating with Louis Vuitton for over 20 years. From painting bold, colorful designs on models’ faces at the brand’s 2016 Resort show in Palm Springs to the now-iconic flame makeup at the 2019 Cruise show, McGrath’s artistry has left an undeniable mark on the Louis Vuitton runway.

From Runway to your Vanity
Off the runway, Pat McGrath is known for her richly pigmented lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes that transform even the most casual makeup fan into an artist. With her vision behind La Beauté Louis Vuitton, the new collection promises to deliver that same creativity and quality — wrapped in the luxurious packaging we’d expect from LV.
According to WWD, the debut lineup will include 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and 8 eyeshadow palettes. You can likely expect a range of matte, satin, and perhaps even celestial, shimmering finishes — all stamped with the coveted LV monogram, of course. With Dame Pat McGrath in charge, you never quite know what surprises are in store, but you can be sure it will be stunning.

Four years in the making
This isn’t a rush job, either. Louis Vuitton and McGrath have reportedly been working on the collection for four years, perfecting every detail. "The beauty universe is so much more than just products," McGrath says on louisvuitton.com. "What we’re creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty."
Whether you’re a die-hard makeup lover or simply someone who can’t resist anything with an LV logo, La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a launch to watch. This fall, beauty is about to get a whole lot more luxurious — and we’re more than ready for it.
